About us

The Pioneers Partnership is a SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training), providing the non-salaried training route into teaching, at Primary and Secondary level.

The Pioneers Partnership SCITT is based at Middleton Technology School and benefits from trusting and supportive relationships with all Headteachers and stakeholders within the Partnership. There is a clear commitment from all partners to ensuring trainees realise their potential and are prepared to teach in any school context. Because of this, employment rates on completion of the course are consistently high.

The wider partnership extends to the vast majority of primary and secondary schools and colleges within the Greater Manchester area and has expanded further due to becoming part of Great Academies Education Trust which is a Multi Academy Trust.

SCHOOLS CAN ONLY BE AS GOOD AS THE PEOPLE WHO WORK IN THEM.

Our vision is that the partnership will respond strategically to local need by training high quality graduates in order to provide schools and students with great teachers. We are ‘In Pursuit of Excellence’ in every aspect of our recruitment, training and outcomes.

All students deserve to be given access to outstanding teaching and learning opportunities. Therefore we will:

  • Recruit trainees with the potential, resilience and drive to become great teachers
  • Provide high-quality training by experts designed to meet the individual needs of our trainees and the context they work in
  • Prepare our trainees with the skills they need to be great teachers in a variety of contexts
  • Collaboratively lead and manage the SCITT so that the needs of each trainee and school are met.
